Living at Margaret House is very much home from home, with an active and fulfilling lifestyle encouraged to promote wellbeing.   We have a wide ranging programme of events and activities throughout the year

Opposite are some of the various activities that we regularly offer as part of a balanced programme covering music, relaxation, physical, reminiscence, social, creative and spiritual.

Eating well is also important

We want you to enjoy the meals we provide and for them to be healthy, nutritious, balanced and appetising. Our Kitchen Manager prepares fresh, home-cooked meals using high quality ingredients. Meals are then served either in the dining rooms, where staff are always on hand to provide assistance should you need it, or in your room if you prefer.

We understand that requirements can differ and our Kitchen Team is trained to support specific dietary needs and choices, including; Vegetarian, Gluten Free, Soft diets and Diabetic diets. We will discuss your individual dietary needs at your pre-assessment meeting and these will be recorded in your care plan.

Our Activities Co-ordinator works with the Kitchen Manager to organise a range of special events throughout the year including BBQ’s, themed days such as ‘Taste of Italy’ or ‘Pie and Pint’ day, as well as Christmas and Easter. We also enjoy celebrating birthdays with an afternoon tea and the cake of your choice.

Ensuring that you drink enough each day is also important, so a selection of hot and cold drinks are available at all times and fresh drinking water is provided in your room. A choice of red or white wine is also available to have with lunch or dinner should you want to enjoy a glass or two.

Eating and drinking should be pleasurable and sociable occasions, which is why your friends or family are very welcome to join you whenever you choose.

What our Clients Say

Word of mouth is important and I often recommend Margaret House.

Healthcare Professional

This residential home has excellent staff and facilities in an extremely pleasant environment. My mother could not have been better placed in the remaining years of her life. The staff are dementia trained and offer activities appropriate to each resident. My mother was treated extremely well in a kind and dignified environment.
She was very happy and secure in all her days at the home.

We have been delighted with the care given to Mum over the past 14 months. The staff are long-serving, friendly and diligent, managed well and very welcoming. They encourage as much independence as possible, but are always on hand to lend a hand. The home is spacious, warm and comfortable and offers a range of activities daily to engage the residents, although no pressure is put on them to participate against their will. In addition, they are served by a hairdresser, optician, chiropodist, rector, doctor  and entertainers - all at no extra charge. Relatives and friends are encouraged to visit all day and are invited for meals and special events. I know that my Mum is as safe and happy as she could be in her nineties
