Background to Margaret House

Margaret House is an independent family run business. It was
established in 1975 by my parents and has been managed by the
family ever since.

We appreciate what a big decision it is when our resident’s
and their families choose to make Margaret House their new
care home. My parents instilled in me from an early age, that we
always treat every resident in the same way as we would treat a
beloved member of our own family and it is this family ethos of
‘because we care’ that continues to underpin everything about
the way the home and the staff operates today and everyday.

That caring extends not only to our residents, but to their
relatives as well. Living at Margaret House is very much home
from home, which is why relatives are warmly welcomed to
the home at all times. Relatives and friends are invited to join
residents for lunch or dinner and to participate in any of the
many activities that take place.

We believe that our residents should enjoy an active and
fulfilling life and this is why we offer a wide range of both
individual and group activities,as well as maintaining close
links with the local community.

Please come and visit us for a cup of coffee and see for yourself the
atmosphere and lifestyle that Margaret House offers.

What our residents & relatives say

Word of mouth is important and I often recommend Margaret House.

Healthcare Professional

This residential home has excellent staff and facilities in an extremely pleasant environment. My mother could not have been better placed in the remaining years of her life. The staff are dementia trained and offer activities appropriate to each resident. My mother was treated extremely well in a kind and dignified environment.
She was very happy and secure in all her days at the home.

We have been delighted with the care given to Mum over the past 14 months. The staff are long-serving, friendly and diligent, managed well and very welcoming. They encourage as much independence as possible, but are always on hand to lend a hand. The home is spacious, warm and comfortable and offers a range of activities daily to engage the residents, although no pressure is put on them to participate against their will. In addition, they are served by a hairdresser, optician, chiropodist, rector, doctor  and entertainers - all at no extra charge. Relatives and friends are encouraged to visit all day and are invited for meals and special events. I know that my Mum is as safe and happy as she could be in her nineties
